Our home (part 3)

This is our front yard which is very soggy at the moment from all the rain. Grandma came to stay recently and bought the boys a bird feeder which is hanging from the tree on the left with no leaves. The birds love it, but I can't fill it fast enough before the seed is all gone again. They line up on the black trellis waiting for their turn. Noah and Ashton get very excited when they can see all the birds out the kitchen window. When the grass is dry the boys love to play soccor and sit on the swing. Noah has his own swing hanging from a tree, which you can't see in this photo. He often sits in it to watch the boys.

Next we have a toilet and office 'shot' which shows the pretty stained glass windows.

We have a Tuatara on our wall. The tuatara is a reptile only found in New Zealand which makes it very unique. When New Zealand was separated from the rest of the world over 100 million years ago the tuatara survived because no predators were able to make it over the Tasman Sea to invade them. They are still living in different parts and islands of New Zealand. I've never seen one and I'm glad because a real one is actually really ugly! But they are an icon here and that's why we figured we'd put one on our wall (lots of people like to put them on the outside of their houses). Ashton is proud of our stair well Tuatara since he goes to 'Tuatara Preschool'.

The man who built our home lives next door to us. He lived in this home for five years, but then his family outgrew it and so he built himself a bigger one. We're pretty much done with decorating the inside of the house, although I still plan on painting a wall in the boy's room and a wall in Noah's. I can't do it at the moment as it's too cold to air the room out and the paint takes too long to dry thoroughly with so much moisture in the air. We have some big projects to be done on the outside once summer arrives. A few of the things on our list is to get the deck water blasted (it's very slippery at the moment with all the rain). We need to get a tree trimmer in to pull out dead branches in some of our trees that are way too high for us to get to. Our front door needs a new coat of varnish and we need to sand down our swing and outdoor bench and re varnish them too. The constant rain completely ruins the wood.

Hayden: "I get the bigger piece of cake because my skeleton is bigger."

Hayden (3yrs old) sees me get dressed in the morning and stares at my breasts with a confused look..."What thooooose be for???"

Hayden: "I don't want to finish my pizza, it's got blood all over it."

Hayden: "Ashton hit me in the heart."

Hayden learns the planets at Preschool: Mercury, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Penus!

Hayden (shopping with me and whining): "My brain hurts forever because you haven't buyed me anything."
