It is quite amazing how different our children can be sometimes. Lately, Ashton has started trying to form letters and to write his name. He also loves doing detailed drawings. Ashton gets excited about learning to do letters and he even asks for help. Hayden, on the other hand, finds it very painful to sit down with a pencil and regularly cries and moans about having to practice his writing. He would much rather do something physical, scientific or creative.
Another major difference…Ashton only spoke about 6 words until he was 3 years old. Just after his third birthday he finally started to speak. Noah on the other hand, could say at least ten words at age two, and at nearly two and a half he talks so much it drives us crazy (he likes to repeat every phrase and word at least 6 times). This week he’s amused us with some of the following phrases;
“What are these Ashton?”
“Have a good day Yuki”
“My face is dirty, wipe me”
“I want to sit over there, move over”
“We going to music box Mummy? The cupcakes are very yummy!”
And every night when we put Noah to bed he says the same thing; "Don't turn the light off" and "Leave the door open!"
Ashton is madly into Star Wars and can tell anyone and everyone ALL of the characters. Ashton has been trying very hard to get Noah into Stars Wars too and many times this week I have heard Ashton say, "Noah Say Jedi, Noah say R2D2, Noah say General Gravious, Noah say Anakin, Noah say ...." Noah has repeated all the words, but in Noah's little world Barney still rules!
A few photo's from the past couple of weeks...
Noah has fun wearing Miyuki's glasses;

Ashton gets out of bed and goes into Noah's room to stop him from crying (Noah isn't happy about going to bed). Ashton pulls up a chair next to his cot and tells him, "It's okay Noah, I'll sit with you."

On Friday night we took the boys to their first rugby game. Rugby has a lot of action with the guys constantly kicking the ball high in the air and tackling each other, so the boys actually paid attention to the game and had fun watching it. One of the highlights of going to a game (any game) is getting to eat lots of food so as we sat in our seats we ate hot chips and hot dogs, but the food was so gross we all felt completely sick afterwards! The best part of the evening was when the game ended and all the kids got to run onto the rugby field. Hayden and Ashton had lots of fun tackling each other on the grass in the pouring rain.

The boys with Uncle Travis (it was IMPOSSIBLE to get all 4 boys looking at the camera at the same time!);
