Memories

This weekend we took a trip to Hamilton to visit my Dad's gravestone. His ashes are in this beautiful garden and his gravestone is just under the trellis before the water fountain. My Dad died in December 2003 when Hayden was 1 1/2. He suffered from leukemia for 10 years, but he unexpectedly died from a cerebral hemorrhage (bleeding in the brain). It was a quick end to his suffering with cancer. In this beautiful garden he rests in peace and suffers no more.

Travis.

We also went to visit our 'Aunty Jessie' who is now 88 years old. She still lives on her own and drives a car. Travis and I have lots of memories of being at Aunty Jessie's house as kids and staying with her in the holidays. She was one of my Grandmas very best and closest friends. Aunty Jessie always made the very best sweetcorn toasties and lemon sago. She loves her 2 cats, card games with friends, bingo, bowls and her cups of tea - her tea cups are so old and have been used so many times that they are completely stained on the inside. She still has the video game in the corner of her lounge (living room) that Travis use to play as a kid. She wasn't too keen on getting her photo taken in the pictures below - she claimed she was too old for that now - but we insisted anyway. Her tiny living room is full of photo's of the people she loves and memories from her past.
