Life Today....

We had the missionaries for dinner last night. It was a really nice evening and we were really impressed with the maturity of the missionaries and what nice young men they were. One was 28 yrs old from Sri Lanka, and the other was 18 from Tonga. Juliet was very shy around them and hid in the playroom for quite some time. Eventually Tony sat her on the couch in the middle of them and I handed them a book to read to her. After a little story time Juliet warmed up to them:

After our 'chicken drumstick' dinner they shared a little message with us. Ashton was more than keen to get out his brand new scriptures, but out of the blue he got over excited, went into his crazy laughing mode and had to leave the room because he couldn't control himself!!! Oh our Ashton, always going bananas at the WRONG times! We (including Satomi) watched the missionaries get suited up for their bike ride home to Milford (quite a distance from Albny Hwy). Even in the middle of winter when it's freezing cold and pouring with rain, the missionaries are out on their bikes - what dedicated young men!

After I had got Juliet dressed this morning I asked her for a hug. She gives such beautiful hugs with a great big smile on her face, and this morning she totally surprised me when she said 'LOVE YOU' as she was hugging . I never knew she could say that! Talk about melt your heart!! Here's a few pics of Juliet just before she turned 2 (she's now 2 years and 2 months):

Here's a pic of Juliet in our laundry tub. I can't remember if I put her in the tub because it was a quick way to give her a shower or because it was the only way I could successfully get the laundry folded!

A few other recent pics:
All 3 boys are getting bigger (SADLY) which means their school socks are getting dirtier and smellier!! The time has come to wash their socks separately so I now have what's called 'sock day' (when all the socks are washed at once).

Here are Ashton and Noah in the Term 1 school holidays (April) playing Lego together. They spent many hours together creating things, but both of them got really frustrated because Juliet wanted to join in and pull things apart. Most of the time the boys love having a little sister, but when they're really involved with something and serious about it.....little sisters can be sooo annoying!!!

The tooth fairy has taken so long to come to our house that she's had to collect teeth from all 3 boys in ONE NIGHT!!! The tooth fairy left our house rather broke! The first 2 teeth are Ashton's, the next 2 are Hayden's molars and the little one at the end is Noah's - his very first tooth to fall out, which he was VERY excited about!

Satomi's parents recently came to visit from Japan. They stayed at a hotel in the city and were only in Auckland for 2 days, but they still found time to come and meet us. As they couldn't speak any English we all did lots of bowing and sign language to communicate (and of course Satomi translated for us). It is surprising how you can still communicate with people without actually speaking! Satomi's mother brought over some origami paper from Japan and showed the boys how to make a couple of things:

Hayden: "I don't want to finish my pizza, it's got blood all over it."

Hayden: "Ashton hit me in the heart."

Hayden learns the planets at Preschool: Mercury, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Penus!

Hayden (shopping with me and whining): "My brain hurts forever because you haven't buyed me anything."
