Slithering Sam

This year Ashton (age 7) is in Mrs Chambers class and Mrs Chambers has a pet snake named 'Slithering Sam'. Every few weeks each child in the class gets to take Slithering Sam home for the night (fortunately for all the mums he's not real!). The children have to write in Sam's journal about what Sam got up to at their house and then paste in pictures of what Sam did.

Ashton has had Slithering Sam twice now.
Here is his first write up. As Ashton is not able to type yet he told me what to write (although I had to help him with his sentences a little so they made sense).
It's a little crooked because I was in a hurry to get it scanned before school this morning;

Here is his second write up. This time Ashton was able to write the story with much less help from me and he even wrote a couple of sentences on his own. Hopefully by the end of the year he will be able to do most of it completely on his own, but the progress he has made so far is really wonderful.

Hayden (3yrs old) sees me get dressed in the morning and stares at my breasts with a confused look..."What thooooose be for???"

Hayden: "I don't want to finish my pizza, it's got blood all over it."

Hayden: "Ashton hit me in the heart."

Hayden learns the planets at Preschool: Mercury, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Penus!

Hayden (shopping with me and whining): "My brain hurts forever because you haven't buyed me anything."
